Are you struggling in vain ?

Psalm 127:1Unless the Lord builds the house,

They labor in vain who build it;

Unless the Lord guards the city,

The watchman stays awake in vain.

2It is vain for you to rise up early,

To sit up late,

To eat the bread of sorrows;

For so He gives His beloved sleep.

Have you ever done things in vain? Yesterday I painted my terrace. After finishing the job, I read on the paint box. It says, make sure it will not rain the first 24 hour after painting. I check the weather, and sure enough, rain was expected a few hours after. I heard the rain pouring down last night, knowing I had worked in vain. 

Jesus came to Peter and told him to launch out to the deep, and Peters response was, Master, we have toiled all night, and caught nothing. In other words we worked all night long in vain. But when he did it on Jesus words, it was not in vain. If the Lord builds the house, it is not in vain. Come to me, Jesus said, all who are weary and heavy laden. Come, all who have toiled all night. Let me take over, and I will make sure the work will not be in vain.

Your King is coming to you

Zac 9:9“Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!

Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem!

Behold, your King is coming to you;

He is just and having salvation,

Lowly and riding on a donkey,

A colt, the foal of a donkey.

Every 17^th of May Norway is celebrating its independence day. It is very unique and one of a kind in all the world. All of Norway is dressing up. Everyone puts on the nicest costumes they have. Those that can afford, puts on their bunad, which is a Norwegian costumes, telling people where in Norway they are from. Some of them cost up to 10 000 dollars. In Oslo, hundreds of thousands march the Karl Johan street, leading up to the Castle. As they come to the Castle, the King and his family is standing on the balcony, and greet every single one of them. They stand there for hours, from 08 am, to 02 pm, to greet the people.

Here, the Bible is saying the opposite. Our King is coming to us !!! Can you imagine, the King suddenly knocking on your door? Still for the King of King this is true. Rev 3 20 says, behold, I am standing at the door knocking. If anyone let me in, I will come in and dine with him, and he with me.

Are you in distress? Are you in trouble? Do you have a need? Behold, your King is coming to you. He has the solution. If you listen, you may hear him knocking on your door

By faith Rahab.....

Heb 11:31 says  By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.

The story of Rahab, is a story of a woman without hope. Everything in life was against her. She was born a gentile, at a time where gentiles were considered unclean. She was born as a woman at a time where women were the weaker vessel, and had little to no rights. She was born in a city that was doomed by God. In addition to all this she was a prostitute and a harlot. An unclean woman, living in an unclean city among an unclean people.

But here in Heb 11, she is listed among the great heroes of faith !!!

With faith, NOTHING is impossible.
I dont care how hopeless your situation looks to you. If you believe, you will see the glory of God. God can make a low tree tall, and a tall tere low. A green tree dry, and a dry tree green. Receive the outstreched hand from God like Rahab, and allow him to turn your situation around.

How much more

Matt 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

There are a lot of rich people in this world. They are seemingly so wealthy that they can do whatever they want to. If they are rich, then HOW MUCH MORE are we? Not only can he bless us here in this life, but also in the world to come

Some people think they have joy and pleasure. And even though we know its only temporarily, they seems so happy. But if they have joy, then HOW MUCH MORE can we say? Filled with the Holy Ghost and power, our cup is overflowing.

Some people have a lot of wisdom and knowledge. But if they have wisdom, then HOW MUCH MORE does our God and savior have wisdom. He IS wisdom. He is the source of ALL knowledge.

You want your family to be saved? Then HOW MUCH MORE don’t you think he wants to see them saved. HE gave his life for them.

You are longing after more of God? To come closer to him? Then HOW MUCH MORE don’t you think he is longing for you. To fellowship with you?

come to me all who are weary...

Matt11:28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

If you are weary, and heavy laden, there is an invitation for you to come to Jesus. Come and receive your rest. Come and receive your blessing. Jesus is not trying to avoid us when we are weary. Sometimes we feel we only can come to him, when we succeed, and have victory. When we struggle, we are afraid to approach him. But that’s when we are invited!!!

When we have nothing to give, and nothing to offer, he invites us to come. Only to receive.
What a wonderful savior we serve.
