Heb 11:24By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;
25Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season
Moses realised that the pleasures of sin was only for a season. He realised that this pleasure would not last. The truth is that after the pleasure comes pain. The season of pleasure is so short compare the season of pain.
I was with a client at work as she was going to get herself a new tattoo. Inside the tattoo shop there was a horrible spirit. The majority of all the pictures of tattoos you could get was skulls, demons, naked women, lust etc etc. Among all this horrific pictures, there was a picture of a women laughing as she was partying. and the next picture of the same woman crying. After some investigation I found out this was a famous motive in the tattoo environment. It is called Laugh now, cry later motive. As I googled it I found many pictures. I thought to myself, that this is the true image of sin. Laugh now and cry later. Moses said that he would rather suffer affliction with the people of God than enjoying the pleasures of sins for a season. The wages of sin is death. It is tears. It is pain.
But when God deals with sin, he takes us the opposite way. Psalm 126:5 says: ”They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.” Better to start with tears and end with joy, than to start with joy, and end with tears. It is all about where and how you want to spend eternity. It depends on how it ends, in tears, or in joy.
