Psalm 73:2But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.
3For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
Asaf is telling us in this Psalm that when he focused on the foolish and unrighteous people, he felt like he was walking on slippery stones. It almost made him to fall. But this was only until he came to the House of God. Then his perspective changed. He says it like this in v 17: “Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end. 18 Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction.”
Things changes when you come into the house and presence of God. The first thing that happens is that God removes you from the slippery stones, set your feet upon a rock, and establish your goings. (Psalm 40:2) The he changes your perspective. You will see and understand that those who will slip and fall in the end are not you, but the foolish. While God has sat your feet upon a rock, and established your goings, he has sat the foolish on slippery places. We may start on slippery places, and stumble, but in the end we will STAND, after withstanding the evil day!! (Eph 6:13) The foolish and ungodly on the other hand, may seem like that are standing now, but in the end, they will find themselves on slippery stones and fall.
Let us make our way into the presence of God so he can establish our goings, and change our perspective. Whats important is not how we start the journey, but how we end the journey!!
