John
8:4They
say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
5Now Moses in the law
commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
6This they said,
tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and
with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
7So when they continued
asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let
him first cast a stone at her.
8And again he stooped
down, and wrote on the ground.
For
ages it has been speculated what Jesus wrote on the ground. It can only be
speculations since the Bible doesn’t tell us. What the Bible does tell us is
the effect of what he wrote. One after another dropped their stones, and went away.
So I am hereby introducing MY theory.
I
believe Jesus wrote their sin on the ground. Seeing he was revealing their
hidden sin, they dropped the stone out of shame for what the others could see,
and out of fear for what else he might reveal and put on the list.
If
this was so or not, we will never know, but one thing we do know. One day,
books shall be opened, and EVERYTHING we have done, whether in secret or
public. The things you wish NO one would know. One day EVERYONE will see, and
everyone will hear about your sins and mistakes.
Unless
the blood of Jesus have washed it all away.
Let
go of your stone, and your condemnation. Let Jesus wash your sins away today,
by repenting, and be baptized in the name of Jesus.
