Prov 25:11A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.
Here, Solomon is likening the word spoken as golden apples. The same Solomon says that death and life are in the power of the tounge, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. John goes on in his first letter chapter 1:1 that the word of God is the word of LIFE. So I think we can safely say that the golden apples here is talking about the spoken word of God. But why should the word of God (golden apples) be presented in pictures of silver? It is because silver in the Bible is a picture of redemption. It has always been Gods plan that those who are redeemed speak his word. Like the psalmist says in Psalm 107: “LET THE REDEEMED OF THE LORD SAY SO”
Paul told the Corinthian church that he “determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. “ Let your words be filtered through the work on Calvary. You see, there is no one that can make the sound like the redeemed. You can hear the difference in the music of them being redeemed and them that have not. They can even sing the same song. Not even the angels in heaven will be able to sing as beautiful as the choir of the redeemed. You see, God didn’t send Angels to proclaim his words. He never intended for politicians or celebrities to proclaim his words. It is not the job of our schools or teachers to teach our children of his word. No, let the redeemed say so. Let the redeemed lift up their voice and proclaim the powerful words of God. It is Golden apples in pictures of silver.
