Come and see

John 1:45Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

46And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.

Nathanael asks the question: Can any good thing come out of Nazareth? Nazareth was the place of a big Roman garnison. The roman army and soldiers which the jews hated. The very symbol of their hurt and pain. The very symbol of their sufferings and shame. Only by the mention of the name Nazareth, reminded them of this pain and shame. WHat possible good can come out of something so shameful, and painful? The response was, come and see. 

We may ask ourselves the same question today. WHat possible good can come out of my painful and hurtful experiences and situations? The bibel states EVERYTHING works together for the GOOD to them that love him. The only way to find out how it can, and how God can turn your pain into something good, is to come and see. Come to me, Jesus says, all that are weary and burdened…. Come to Jesus, and you wil find as Nathanael, something good will come out of your pain.
