Looking unto Jesus

James 3: 16For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

Another translation uses self-seeking, or selfish ambitions for the word strife.

Envy is when you focus on others. Selfish ambitions are when you focus on your self. So it can be said from this verse: When you focus on others or when you focus on yourself, you will be confused. This confusion will lead to evil work. So what shall we do then?

Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. Stop looking at others. Stop looking at yourself. You will only be confused. Look to Jesus. Have your eyes upon him. As long as you look to him, you will not sink like Peter.
