The bitter waters of Marah

Ex 15:23And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah.

Three days after the victory song by the shores of the red sea, the people of Israel are facing a big trial. They have no water, and when they finnaly find some, it is bitter. It seems out of Gods will. It seems that Moses missed the voice of God. Surely this was not a part of Gods plan?
The truth is that it was a part of Gods plan. The Bible says, here he proved them, or tested them. Sometimes God leads us right from a victory moment to a Marah moment. The reason is to test us, and our faith. If you pass the test of Marah, he will lead you to Elim. That was the next place they came to. It had twelve wells of water, and seventy palm trees.

Endure your Marah, and you will enjoy your Elim.
