John
1:12But
as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God,
to those who believe in His name:
John
3:18“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is
condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten
Son of God.
Who
would be given the right to become children of God? It was those who believed
in his name. And would be condemned? Those who did not believed in the name of
the Son of God. What meanest that? It does not mean that we should believe his
name was Jesus. How strange wouldn’t that be? That John is saying that all who
believes his name was Jesus will be saved. No, it is the message behind his
name. His name is telling us something we should believe. His name represents
something.
To
believe in his name is to believe that name is what it claims to be. The name
of the Father (John 5:43). The name of the Holy Spirit. (John 14:25) The name
of the Son (Matt 1:25) That
is why we are being baptized in the name of Jesus. Because we believe in his
name.
His name is Wonderful, his name is Counselor, his name is Mighty God, his name is Everlasting Father, and his name is Prince of peace.
His name is Jehovah Do you believe in his name?
