What team
are you on?
1 Cor
1:26For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the
flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27But God
hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath
chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28And base
things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and
things which are not, to bring to nought things that are.
When I was
a young boy, we always picked teams to play football (soccer). We lined up all
the kids, and started to pick. As the groups got thinner, the faces of the kids
got sadder and sadder. They slowly realized that no one wanted to pick them. In
the end one would often say, as he had collected the team he wanted: You can
have the rest. What a horrible feeling
to be among “the rest”. Those no one wanted on their team….
But with Jesus it’s the opposite. He want the ones that no one wants on his team.
These are the ones Jesus wants on his team:
But with Jesus it’s the opposite. He want the ones that no one wants on his team.
These are the ones Jesus wants on his team:
Matt 11:28
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Are you
weary? Do you labour and struggle? Are you heavy laden? Congratulation. Jesus
wants you. He just picked you. Come to me. Come to my team. I will make you a
winner.
The
greatest thing about being on Jesus team is that we have the star player. We
get to win, because we are on his team.
